Jewish Life in Munich
Since 2006 the stunning new Synagogue Ohel Jakov marks one of the most
interesting modern buildings in the center of the city. On November 9th 1938, the
“Reichskristallnacht”, a former Ohel Jakov Synagogue had been destroyed. But
Jewish life, having had a great impact on Munich’s development for centuries
returned after the Shoa and found a new home. The Synagogue, the Jewish
Community Center and the Munich Jewish Museum form a thriving entity close to
the Municipal City Museum.
